Hawaiian Music, 1911-1928

In commemoration of the 90th anniversary of the American entry into
World War I (April 6, 1917) the University of California Santa Barbara Libraries have made available
online over 100 cylinder recordings of popular songs from the First
World War.

Of particular interest to surf historians and lovers of Hawaiian music is a treasure trove of over 100 recorded Hawaiian songs between 1911 and 1928.

The recordings are available for streaming and downloading on the
UCSB library’s Cylinder Preservation and Digitization Project website
( http://cylinders.library.ucsb.edu/wwi.php ). Click on this post's title to take the hyperlink straight to it.
